William and Arthur grew up together on an English farm in the early 2000s, and when Harry joined them the following year, the trio formed an equine version of the Three Musketeers.
Sadly, though, their bond was broken when their owner was forced to sell Arthur in 2008. The thoroughbred sport horse spent the next few years competing, while his two pony pals remained with their owner, Sue Blagburn. Selling him was the right thing to do at the time, she said. But a little over four years and several moves later, she re-purchased Arthur.
She guided him back to the field in East Sussex, where she now lived, to reintroduce him to his old friends. Sue was fairly sure they’d recognize each other, even though so much time had passed… but would it really be the same?
“I don’t know what will happen. Let’s see,” she said, before turning Arthur loose.
The video of that reunion has been viewed millions of times, and the joyful celebration has probably melted just as many hearts.
Harry trots up moments after Arthur enters the pasture, bending his head in a silent greeting. William’s swift entrance moments later completes the beautiful homecoming.
