Most recently, the staff of the service for the protection of nature has done a noble deed, they saved the life of a two-month baby Mediterranean seal. This mammal belongs to the group of swallows, a detachment of predatory, a family of eared seals.
It is important to note that now this type of seals is on the verge of extinction. Of all marine mammals, Mediterranean seals are the most vulnerable to extinction. The rescued little cat is one of six mammals of this species which still remain in the wild.
The plans of a group of biologists from the service for the protection of nature is to release the baby into the wild in the area of Greece.
