33 Circus Lions Return Home To Africa After A Lifetime Of Misery

Since most lions have removed claws or fangs, they will no longer be able to live in natural conditions. 33 lions rescued from circuses Colombia and Peru, are transported by plane to South Africa, where they will be settled in a local reserve.

The action was organized by defenders of wild animals from the American organization Animal Defense International (ADI), according to the Russian air force.

As they note, giant cats contained in captivity illegally: in Peru use of wild animals in the entertainment industry is forbidden since 2011, and in Colombia – since 2013. Most of the circuses with which negotiated activists gave their lions voluntarily, the rest of the animals rescued with the help of the police.
