Last Surviving Ground Zero Search And Rescue Dog Gets The Best Day Of Her Life As A Thank You


One of the worst days in the history of the United States is September 11. The tragedy took lives of 2,996 people. Over 6,000 people received injuries on that day. Many of those who remained in the rubble needed urgent help and heroes rushed to rescue people in that hell. Among those heroes were dogs as well. Bretagne and her owner, Denise Corliss, were members of Texas Task Force 1 and they looked for victims on that day. They worked without rest to do as much as possible, looked for victims, tried to comfort them. Now the dog is 16 years old. Bretagne is the oldest known rescue dog and she was rewarded with her own Dog’s Best Day. She spent her birthday with her owner Denise in New York and had great experience.
