Rose Sharman was driving home with her two dogs from Flagstaff to Phoenix when a tire blew out on her RV. The ensuing crash sent Rose and her dogs flying through the windshield.
One of the dogs was killed in the crash. Her other dog, Ily, got spooked and ran away into the desert. Rose was hospitalized and bound to bed, which meant she couldn’t search for Ily.
When her story got out, the entire community stepped in and a 100-strong volunteer search party searched for Ily for over 2 months.
