We often hear about how military families struggle when a loved one is sent overseas to war. Husbands, wives, and children have to say goodbye, and it is an emotional time. But you usually don’t think about the pets that are left behind. Second-class petty officer Christina Baez was overseas for the past year.

She left her dog, Laila, with a foster family. The fostering was set up through PACT for Animals. Laila loved her foster family, and they loved her! The video below shows the happy reunion between Laila and her mom, Christina. Christina approaches and calls out, and Laila goes right to her.
