If dog language existed, it would sound that way…the Dog produces the various sounds, and they have different meanings; all the dog understands their environment, often in contrast to the uncomprehending owner.

Each owner distinguishes in the barking of their own dog a dozen meanings: warning about the appearance of strangers, the presence of strange dogs greeting returning family members, playing with children or with each other, collision with passing dogs, fear of danger, please water (barking-whining, very kind), the requirement of food.
