The volunteers who work with Southern California-based dog rescue and shelter Hope For Paws often have to travel far and wide to help rescue the dogs that concerned callers report to them.
In most instances, the reward they get for their immense efforts is simply seeing the dogs find happiness and a new forever home.
When they picked up a homeless Newfoundland named Everest, though, the outcome of his rescue story showed that every second chance is an opportunity to pay it forward!
Hope For Paws founder Eldad Hagar and volunteer Loreta Frankonyte were called about Everest when the large, shaggy pup seemed to lose the companion he had been scavenging with.
