The relationship between dogs and people is distinctive. There is a reason why dogs are considered to be man’s best friend. They are loyal, protective, and loving. It is proven many times before that their relationship with babies and young children is even deeper and like no other.
Babies that grow up with a dog in the house are healthier, friendlier, and develop greater sense of self-esteem. They learn how to share and how to love when they are around dogs. Dogs and babies are similar in nature and that might be another reason why they make such good friends. Both feel the need to have a playmate and someone who will give them attention. When around dogs, the level of the hormones of happiness rises and that’s why we are always eager to spend our time with these lovely fluffy creatures.
When a dog is introduced with the baby for the first time it’s essential that everyone is relaxed and calm. The dog shouldn’t feel neglected, but rewarded for any positive behavior it shows towards the baby or the child.
