Abused and abandoned hunting dog experiences love for the first time

Hunting dogs are often used to flush out animals or to retrieve the animals their humans have killed. In plenty of cases, these dogs love this work. Hunting means long hours out in the woods, plenty of fresh smells and even excitement.

Unfortunately, hunting dogs aren’t all treated the same. Although some hunting dogs are also pets, others are strictly seen as being for hunting only. After a hunt is done, the dogs go back to their kennels. In some cases, they have minimal interaction with humans.

Meet Ruby. She was a hunting dog her entire life and was never shown affection. One day, Ruby didn’t do her job as her owner expected her to, making him angry.

Ruby’s owner beat her and broke her hips. Then he abandoned her. Luckily, Ruby was discovered and was rushed to a vet for the medical care that she needed.
